When IAF Announces Recruitment
AFCAT is held twice a year, and Agniveervayu intakes are also announced roughly twice a year. Group C civilian posts are advertised by individual stations when vacancies arise.
What IAF Applicants Often Miss
- The Computerised Pilot Selection System test can be taken only once. A candidate who fails it cannot try for the flying branch again.
- Group C civilian posts are advertised in Employment News by each station or command, and the application often goes by post to that station.
- Agniveervayu has separate science and non-science subject groups, and the subjects you studied in 12th decide which you can sit.
Preparing for IAF Recruitment
Defence selection tests the whole person. Alongside the written exam, build physical fitness steadily and, for officer entries, prepare for the SSB interview by practising group discussions and reflecting honestly on your own experiences.

Pay and Benefits at IAF
Defence pay follows the central pay matrix with military service pay and allowances for field and high-altitude postings. Agniveers receive a fixed package under the Agnipath scheme. Civilian defence employees are paid on the central pay matrix.
