When ICG Announces Recruitment
The Coast Guard announces enrolled personnel batches about twice a year, each named by batch number, and Assistant Commandant entries at similar intervals.
What ICG Applicants Often Miss
- Training for Navik and Yantrik begins at INS Chilka in Odisha, and final document checks happen there too.
- The four stages are spread over several months, and missing any stage ends your candidature for that batch.
- Yantrik candidates need a diploma in a branch the notice lists. A related diploma in another branch is not accepted.
Preparing for ICG Recruitment
Defence selection tests the whole person. Alongside the written exam, build physical fitness steadily and, for officer entries, prepare for the SSB interview by practising group discussions and reflecting honestly on your own experiences.
Eligibility for ICG Jobs
Each ICG notification sets the qualification and age limits for its posts. Central government recruitment explains the standard age relaxations and the mistakes that get applications rejected.
Pay and Benefits at ICG
Defence pay follows the central pay matrix with military service pay and allowances for field and high-altitude postings. Agniveers receive a fixed package under the Agnipath scheme. Civilian defence employees are paid on the central pay matrix.
