Follow the Bodies That Matter to You

Most candidates prepare for the exams of a few recruiting bodies, not for every notification. An organisation page brings together everything from one body: open recruitment, admit cards, results and answer keys, so you can follow one recruitment from notice to final result in one place.

Each page also explains what the body recruits for and how its selection usually works, which helps when you are deciding which exams to aim for.

The Kinds of Bodies That Recruit

  • Public service commissions: UPSC and the state commissions recruit officers and senior posts through competitive exams and interviews, and recommend candidates to departments.
  • Staff selection bodies: SSC and the state boards fill clerical, assistant, constable and other non-gazetted posts in large numbers, mainly through objective exams.
  • Railway Recruitment Boards and Cells: they run the railways' centralised recruitment for technical and non-technical posts, and zone-level apprentice and Level 1 recruitment.
  • Banks and insurers: IBPS runs common exams for public sector banks; SBI, RBI, NABARD and the insurers run their own.
  • Defence and armed police: the armed forces recruit through UPSC and their own entries, and the central armed police forces through SSC and their own notices.
  • Public sector companies: PSUs recruit engineers, managers, technicians and apprentices under their own rules, often using GATE for engineers.
  • Courts, universities and research institutes: they recruit their own staff, usually in smaller numbers and with shorter application windows.

Official Websites

Where we show an official website, we have checked that the address belongs to the organisation. Where we have not been able to confirm it, we say so, and you should rely on the official links in each recruitment notice. Never pay fees or share documents through a site you have not confirmed is official.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does an organisation page show no open jobs?

We list a recruitment only after checking its official notification. Many bodies recruit once or twice a year, so their pages can be empty between rounds. Each page explains what the body usually recruits for, so you can prepare in advance.

Which organisations recruit the most people each year?

The Staff Selection Commission, the Railway Recruitment Boards, India Post through Gramin Dak Sevak engagement, the central armed police forces and the state police and staff selection boards usually recruit the largest numbers.

Is a job with a PSU or a bank a government job?

PSUs and public sector banks are owned by the government but are companies with their own service rules. They are not civil service posts, but they are widely counted as government jobs and offer similar security.
