When ISRO Announces Recruitment
ICRB recruits engineers in most years. Centres such as VSSC, URSC, SDSC SHAR, LPSC and SAC run their own technical recruitment when they have vacancies.
What ISRO Applicants Often Miss
- Each ISRO centre advertises its technical posts separately, so check the centre named in the notice and where it is located.
- The Technician B skill test is qualifying, and merit is drawn from the written test.
- ITI certificates for Technician B must be from NCVT, as the notices usually specify.
Preparing for ISRO Recruitment
Research organisations test subject depth. For scientist posts, revise your core discipline thoroughly and prepare to discuss your projects and publications. Project posts often fill quickly through interviews, so keep your documents and references ready.
Eligibility for ISRO Jobs
Each ISRO notification sets the qualification and age limits for its posts. Central government recruitment explains the standard age relaxations and the mistakes that get applications rejected.
Pay and Benefits at ISRO
Regular scientific and technical posts are paid on the central pay matrix, with scientists usually joining at Level 10. Project posts carry fixed monthly emoluments set by the funding agency, for the life of the project.

ICRB has its own written test for Scientist/Engineer SC, followed by an interview. Check each notice, because ISRO has used different methods in some rounds.
Can diploma holders join ISRO?
Yes. Technical Assistant posts at ISRO centres are for engineering diploma holders.
What is the age limit for ISRO jobs?
It differs by post. Each ISRO notification states the minimum and maximum age, the date on which age is counted and the relaxations for reserved categories.
Can final-year students apply for ISRO recruitment?
Only where the notification allows it. Some recruitments accept candidates who will complete their qualification by a stated date; others need the qualification on the closing date.
Is there an application fee for ISRO jobs?
Most recruitments charge a fee, with exemptions or reductions commonly given to women, SC, ST, persons with disabilities and ex-servicemen. The fee and exemptions are listed in each notice.
Where are ISRO recruitment notices published?
