ICAR Recruitment 2026

What ICAR Recruits For

• Technicians and technical assistants
• Assistants and administrative staff
• Project staff such as young professionals and research fellows at institutes

How ICAR Recruitment Works

ICAR recruits scientists, technical staff and administrative staff, usually through a written test, an interview or both. Its laboratories or institutes also take project staff for funded research projects, on fixed terms linked to the project.

Preparing for ICAR Recruitment

Research organisations test subject depth. For scientist posts, revise your core discipline thoroughly and prepare to discuss your projects and publications. Project posts often fill quickly through interviews, so keep your documents and references ready.

Eligibility for ICAR Jobs

Each ICAR notification sets the qualification and age limits for its posts. Central government recruitment explains the standard age relaxations and the mistakes that get applications rejected.

Pay and Benefits at ICAR

Regular scientific and technical posts are paid on the central pay matrix, with scientists usually joining at Level 10. Project posts carry fixed monthly emoluments set by the funding agency, for the life of the project.
