How KEA Recruitment Works

KEA fills non-gazetted posts, mostly in Group C, for government departments. Most recruitment is through written or computer-based exams, with typing, skill or physical tests added for posts that need them.

Selected candidates are recommended to departments according to merit and their stated preferences. Several staff selection bodies now use a common test to shortlist candidates for many posts at once.

KEA recruits for posts in Karnataka. Kannada is required for state posts. Candidates who did not study Kannada at school may need to pass a Kannada language test, as the notification will explain. Reserved seats are usually kept for residents, so keep your residence and category certificates in the format the state prescribes.

Preparing for KEA Recruitment

Staff selection exams are mostly objective and fast. Speed and accuracy in arithmetic, reasoning and language matter as much as general knowledge, so take timed mock tests regularly and review every wrong answer.

Note which stages are qualifying and which count for merit, and keep typing or skill test practice going alongside written preparation if your post needs it.

Pay and Benefits at KEA

Posts filled through KEA are paid on the pay matrix of the government concerned, mostly at the entry and middle levels for Group C posts. Each notice lists the pay level or scale of every post.

On top of basic pay come dearness allowance, house rent allowance by city, and other allowances. New appointees serve a probation period before confirmation.

2. Read the eligibility, vacancy break-up by category, fee and last date carefully before you start the form.
3. Register on the KEA application portal, or log in if you already have an account, and fill in the form.
4. Upload your photograph, signature and documents in the sizes asked, pay the fee where charged, and submit before the deadline.
