The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) is recruiting Head Constables and Constables (General Duty) under the meritorious sportsperson quota for 2026. This page covers a corrigendum, which is a correction to the original notice. The notice does not state the number of posts or the eligible degree subjects. The closing date and time are not given in the notice, so check the official website before you apply.
Who Should Apply for CRPF Sports Quota Constable 2026
This suits sportspersons aged 18 to 23 who were born between 02/08/2003 and 01/08/2008 and have a recognised sporting achievement, and anyone who wrongly assumes that the original age window still applies may find they are no longer eligible.
The exact qualification, age and other conditions are under Eligibility Criteria.
Watch Out Before You Apply
- The corrigendum changes the birth date window to 02/08/2003 to 01/08/2008, so check your date of birth against the corrected range, not the original one.
- The age cut-off date stays at 01/08/2026, so calculate your age on that date, not on the day you apply.
- The notice does not give the closing date, so do not assume a deadline; check the official CRPF recruitment website for it.

What Happens After Selection
Candidates who make the final merit list have their original documents checked and go through a medical examination.
The appointing department then verifies character and antecedents, usually through the police, and issues an offer of appointment with the joining date and place of posting.
Uniformed posts begin with basic training at a training centre or academy before the first posting.
The notification and the appointment letter set out the exact terms for this recruitment.
