Which Size to Use
Every notification sets its own rules for the photo, the signature and sometimes the left thumb impression: the size in pixels or centimetres, the file size in KB and the file type. The sizes in the list are common ones; always compare them with the notification and change the numbers if yours differ.
When a notice gives the size in centimetres, a portal usually still checks the KB limit. Keep the shape (width against height) the notice describes, for example a passport photo taller than it is wide.
Getting a Photo and Signature Accepted
Use a recent photo with a plain light background, your face clearly visible and no cap or dark glasses unless the notice allows them. Many notices ask for the date the photo was taken to be printed on it, or for a photo taken within a set period; check yours.
Sign on plain white paper with a black or blue pen, as the notice says, and photograph it in good light. Use 'Keep the whole image' for signatures so nothing is cut off.
If the result is below the minimum size, the portal may reject it as too small: make the width and height larger. If it is still above the maximum, make them smaller.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is my photo uploaded to your website?
No. The resizing happens in your browser, on your own phone or computer. The image is never sent to us.
What file type does it make?
A JPG, which almost every recruitment portal accepts. Check the notification if it asks for another type.
Why is my photo rejected even though the size is right?
Portals also check the pixel size and sometimes the shape of the face in the frame. Set the width and height exactly as the notice says and use 'Fill the frame' for photos.
