Watch Out Before You Apply
- Your mobile number and personal email must stay active throughout, because all recruitment messages are sent there and changes are not allowed.
- You must hold a vision certificate in the prescribed Annexure VI or VI-A format when you appear for CBAT, or you cannot sit the exam.
- Candidates who have had LASIK or other corrective eye surgery are not eligible, so you must sign the self-declaration at document verification if it applies.

Educational Qualification
- Graduate Degree from recognized University or its equivalent

20 to 33 years (as on 1 Jan 2027)

RRB Station Master 2026 Salary and Pay Scale
This is Level 6 in the 7th Pay Commission, with starting basic pay of ₹35,400, roughly ₹55,900 a month gross at 58% DA.

Before You Apply for RRB Station Master 2026: Quick Check
- You hold the qualification for the exact post you want (Graduate Degree from recognized University or its equivalent).
- Your age is between 20 and 33 years on 1 Jan 2027, before any relaxation you are entitled to.

What Happens After Selection
Candidates who make the final merit list after the stages listed above (4 in all) have their original documents checked and go through a medical examination.
The appointing department then verifies character and antecedents, usually through the police, and issues an offer of appointment with the joining date and place of posting.
New appointees usually serve a probation period, often one to two years, during which there may be induction training, before being confirmed in service.

RRB Station Master 2026: Frequently Asked Questions
Can final-year students apply?
No. The notification says candidates waiting for final results of the prescribed qualification are not eligible to apply.
Is there negative marking in the CBT?
Yes. One-third of the marks for each question are deducted for every wrong answer.
Do I need to pay the full fee if I am from SC or ST?
No. Female, transgender, Ex-Servicemen, SC, ST, minority and EBC candidates pay ₹250, which is refunded on appearing in the CBT.
Can I change my exam city or date after applying?
No. The notification says requests to change exam city, centre, date or shift will not be allowed under any circumstances.
