Odisha University of Agriculture & Technology (OUAT) in Bhubaneswar is recruiting 52 Professors and equivalent posts across agriculture, forestry, veterinary, fishery, engineering, basic science and community science. Eligibility depends on your subject: you need a 2nd class Bachelor's and Master's degree in the relevant subject, plus a Ph.D. in that subject. Applications must reach the Registrar by 5:00 PM on 28 October 2026. Send your application by Speed post or Registered post early, because late arrivals are not entertained.
Who Should Apply for OUAT Professor 2026
Candidates with a Ph.D. and a Master's degree in the exact subject of the post, plus 10 years of teaching, research or extension experience including 2 years as Associate Professor, will fit; candidates with only a general agriculture degree should check the subject list carefully.

OUAT Professor 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- Minimum 2nd Class Bachelor's Degree in the relevant subject with at least 55% marks/equivalent OGPA
- Minimum 2nd Class Master's Degree in the concerned subject with at least 55% marks/equivalent OGPA
- Ph.D. Degree in the concerned subject
Age Relaxation
- Relaxation of 5% marks at Bachelor's and Master's level for SC/ST/PwD
Other Conditions
- Minimum 10 years of experience (excluding Ph.D. period) in teaching/research/extension education not below Assistant Professor/Equivalent, out of which 2 years in Associate Professor/equivalent in 7th CPC pay scale of level 13A (pay band-4 of 37400-67000/- with AGP 9000 pre-revised) in a Govt. University/Reputed accredited University
- Retirement age: 60 years

The post is Level-14 in Cell-1 of the pay matrix, with a starting basic pay of ₹1,44,200 plus usual DA and other allowances as admissible.

What Happens After Selection
Candidates who make the final merit list after the stages listed above (3 in all) have their original documents checked and go through a medical examination.
The appointing department then verifies character and antecedents, usually through the police, and issues an offer of appointment with the joining date and place of posting.
New appointees usually serve a probation period, often one to two years, during which there may be induction training, before being confirmed in service.

Can I apply if I have a Master's degree in a related subject but not the exact one?
The notification requires a Master's degree in the concerned subject, and the Ph.D. must also be in that subject. Check the eligible degree list for your post before applying.
Is there an application fee for SC, ST or PwD candidates?
The notification lists only one fee of ₹1500 for all candidates. It does not mention any category-wise exemption.
Do I need to attend the interview in person?
