The Islamic University of Science & Technology (IUST), Kashmir, is hiring 48 Assistant Professors across more than 15 departments and centres. Posts are in Kashmir, Jammu and Kashmir. Eligibility depends on your subject: most posts need a Master's with at least 55% marks, while engineering posts need first-class B.E./B.Tech. and M.E./M.Tech. degrees. - Foreign degree holders must get an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) before applying.
- Experience counts only if a certificate from the employing institution supports it. Time spent on your PhD or Master's does not count as teaching experience.

Educational Qualification
- Master's degree with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC non-creamy layer) for English, Urdu, Journalism, Education, Zoology, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Molecular Medicines, Geomatics and similar subjects
- B.E./B.Tech./M.E./M.Tech. first class for Food Technology, Civil, E&CE, CSE and Mechanical Engineering
- Bachelor's and Master's in Business Administration/PGDM/CA/ICWA/M.Com. first class for Management Studies
- Ph.D. with first class in all preceding degrees for KAST posts
Other Conditions
- NET/SET/SLET required, or Ph.D. in compliance with UGC 2009 Regulations, or foreign Ph.D. from a university ranked in top 500 with AIU equivalence
- Seven-point scale: grade B equivalent to 55%

What Happens After Selection
Candidates who make the final merit list after the stages listed above (2 in all) have their original documents checked and go through a medical examination.
The appointing department then verifies character and antecedents, usually through the police, and issues an offer of appointment with the joining date and place of posting.
New appointees usually serve a probation period, often one to two years, during which there may be induction training, before being confirmed in service.
