Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board (APSSB) is hiring for 217 Group C posts across 13 post codes, including nurses, technicians, pharmacists, drivers and constables. Work is based in the Itanagar Capital Region. Only candidates who hold an APST certificate and a Permanent Residence Certificate of Arunachal Pradesh, and who speak an indigenous tribal language of the State, are eligible. Who Should Apply for APSSB Group C 2026
Candidates with Class XII (Science) and the matching diploma for health posts, Class X with a valid driving licence for driver and constable posts, or the relevant diploma for publicity posts, who are also APST holders with a Permanent Residence Certificate. Candidates from outside Arunachal Pradesh should not apply, even if their qualifications match.

- Class XII (Science) with Diploma in Dental Mechanic/Technician (Dental Technician)
- Class XII with two-year Health Assistant Training Course (Health Assistant Jr.)
- Class X with valid HMV/LMV licence (Constable MT Driver, Head Constable Driver, Driver HMV/LMV)
- Class XII with diploma in TV, Radio or Sound System, or Electrical/Electronics (Field Publicity Assistant)

What Happens After Selection
Candidates who make the final merit list after the stages listed above (5 in all) have their original documents checked and go through a medical examination.
The appointing department then verifies character and antecedents, usually through the police, and issues an offer of appointment with the joining date and place of posting.

Can final-year students apply?
The notification does not say. Eligibility is set by the qualification at the cut-off date of 5 November 2026, so check the notification and the APSSB website before applying.
Is there negative marking?
No. The written examination has no negative marking. You must score at least 33% in the Common Paper and 33% in the Technical Paper separately.
Do candidates from other states pay the general fee?
The notification says only APST candidates with a Permanent Residence Certificate are eligible. Candidates from other states are not eligible to apply.
Does the physical test add marks to my final score?
No. The physical, driving, competency and medical stages are qualifying only, and final merit is based on written examination marks alone.
