Indian Oil Corporation Limited (Pipelines Division) is hiring around 500 apprentices across its regional pipeline units in many states. Posts cover technician trades (mechanical, electrical, telecom and instrumentation), trade apprentices (assistant HR and accountant), and data entry operators. Who Should Apply for IOCL Pipelines Apprentice 2026
Diploma holders in mechanical, automobile, electrical, electronics or instrumentation engineering, degree holders (commerce for accountant posts), and 12th pass candidates with the right skill certificate may apply; if you already hold a BE/B.Tech, MBA or similar higher qualification, you are not eligible.

- Technician Apprentice (Electrical): three-year full-time Diploma in Electrical or Electrical & Electronics Engineering
- Technician Apprentice (Telecommunication & Instrumentation): three-year full-time Diploma in specified electronics/instrumentation disciplines
- Trade Apprentice (Assistant-Human Resource): full-time Bachelor degree
- Trade Apprentice (Accountant): full-time Bachelor degree in Commerce
- Data Entry Operator (Fresher Apprentices): minimum 12th pass (below graduate)
- Domestic Data Entry Operator (Skill Certificate Holders): minimum 12th pass plus Domestic Data Entry Operator skill certificate

What Happens After Selection
Selected candidates sign a contract of apprenticeship and join for the training period stated in the notice, with a monthly stipend.
At the end, apprentices who complete the training receive a certificate. An apprenticeship does not by itself lead to a permanent post, though some employers give weightage to their own trained apprentices in later recruitment.

Can final-year students apply?
No. You must have already passed the prescribed qualification by 30 November 2026. Candidates whose results are awaited on that date are not eligible to apply.
Is there a written test?
No. The notification says selection is based on a panel cum merit list using your percentage of marks, with no written test or personal interview.
Can a candidate with a BE or B.Tech apply for a diploma-level post?
No. Candidates holding BE/B.Tech, MBA, CA, LLB, MCA or similar higher professional qualifications are not eligible.
