NLC India Limited, a Navratna Government of India enterprise, is hiring 1,067 apprentices for trade and graduate (non-engineering) training at Neyveli and RO Chennai. Trade apprentices need an ITI in the relevant trade. Graduate apprentices need a regular full-time Bachelor's degree in a listed non-engineering subject. Who Should Apply for NLC India Apprentice 2026
Trade applicants with an ITI pass in one of the listed trades, and graduates with a B.Com, BBA, BSc Computer Science, BCA, BSc Geology, BSc Micro Biology, BSc Chemistry, B.Pharm or BSc Nursing degree may apply, and final-year students should check the 2026 completion rule before assuming eligibility.

Watch Out Before You Apply
- Upload your 8th or SSLC mark sheet as your date of birth proof, and your HSC mark sheet as your qualification proof.
- If you finished your course in 2026 but have no provisional certificate yet, get a Temporary Provisional Certificate on the institution's letterhead, signed and sealed by the Principal.
- OBC candidates must submit a valid OBC Non-Creamy Layer certificate dated from 01-04-2026, or they will be treated as General category.
- Candidates who have done or are doing NAPS, NATS or PM Internship at NLC India or elsewhere are not eligible.
- Completing the apprenticeship does not give you any right to a job at NLC India.

NLC India Apprentice 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- ITI in the relevant trade from a recognised institute (trade apprentices)
- Regular full-time Bachelor's degree in the relevant discipline from a UGC-approved university (graduate non-engineering apprentices)

Minimum 18 years (as on 31 Oct 2026)

Other Conditions
- Minimum age 18 years as per Apprentices Act 1961 sec 3(a), to be completed on or before 31-10-2026
- Graduate candidates should have passed the qualifying examination in 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 or 2026
- Year of passing not applicable to ITI passed candidates
- Candidates should not have previously undergone or currently be undergoing NAPS/NATS and PM interns scheme at NLC India Limited or elsewhere
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates must submit a valid OBC-NCL certificate valid from 01-04-2026; otherwise considered General category
- Completion of apprenticeship does not entitle candidates to employment in NLC India Limited

NLC India Apprentice 2026 Salary and Pay Scale
Trade apprentices get ₹12,000 a month, and graduate apprentices get ₹14,174 or ₹16,678 a month depending on the course, as printed in the notice. Of the graduate stipend, ₹6,150 is paid by the Government under the DBT scheme.
As printed in the notification: Trade apprentices: Rs.12,000/- per month. Graduate (Non Engineering): Rs.14,174/- per month (B.Com, BBA, BSc Computer Science, BCA, BSc Geology, BSc Micro Biology, BSc Chemistry), Rs.16,678/- per month (B.Pharm Allopathy, B.Pharm Ayurveda, BSc Nursing); of which Rs 6150/- paid by Government under DBT scheme
NLC India Apprentice 2026 Selection Process
- Trade Apprentices: selection based on percentage of marks in qualifying ITI examination
- Graduate (Non-Engineering) Apprentices: selection based on percentage of marks in Bachelor's Degree, calculated per university procedure; if CGPA/grades, multiplied by 10; otherwise average of semester-wise or year-wise percentages
- In case of tie at cut-off, older candidate by date of birth is preferred

What Happens After Selection

The notification says graduates must have passed the qualifying examination in 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 or 2026. Candidates who completed their course in 2026 may apply with a Temporary Provisional Certificate.
Do candidates from other states pay the general fee?

Is there negative marking?
